Emergency Care Bridge Campaign

Legacy of Hope Foundation officially opened its first Emergency Care Home in 2016.

Volunteers helped train staff, prepare the building to house children, and raised startup costs for the program.

One year after the program was officially open, Legacy of Hope signed a contract with DINAF (Honduran child services) which provided the majority of the funds necessary to operate and expand the program.

For the past 6 years, this collaboration between Legacy of Hope and the Honduran government has proved to be mutually beneficiaL DINAF knew that they could assure children were receiving the highest quality of care at Legacy of Hope and we had a consistent source of operating funds.

Unfortunately, due to government inefficiencies and most recently corruption, our contract and subsequent payments have been delayed, almost completely draining our financial reserves.

Our monthly operating cost for this program is about $9,500, which was primarily funded by the government contract.

While we have been operating in good faith over the past several months that a new contract was forthcoming, we depleted all our financial reserves in the process.

Because of these delays, unknowns, and the depletion of reserves, we are now in a financial crisis and weighing the heartbreaking possibility of closing the doors to our Emergency Care Homes and laying off our specially-trained Emergency Home Caregivers and professional Staff.

In an effort to avert that, we are launching this emergency bridge campaign to uphold our financial obligations until a new contract is in place.

For every $10,000 raised, we are able to keep our Emergency Care Home operating one more month.

We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know that The Lord has gone before us and that the children we serve are His first and foremost.

Please donate today and share our plea to help keep our doors open until our new contract is signed and we are able to replenish our financial reserves.
