Ashlyn was brought to us from an abusive home. She weighed only 8.6 pounds at 4 months old. Her mother had feed her only rice water (the water created when rinsing rice before cooking) Her little body was covered with rash due the elements and malnutrition. After only 16 hours in our home we realized she was very sick. She was hospitalized for severe pneumonia and malnutrition. Ashlyn has since come along way. She is walking and has a basic vocabulary.  She still tends to have a weaker-than-average immune system, so your support will help us to give her the best medical care possible and provide educational resources as she prepares to enter our preschool program.
