Happy Adoption Month!

Happy National Adoption Month!  Matt and I are overjoyed to share that after 10 years of waiting, we’ve officially finalized the adoption of our daughter, Isabella Jean Spangler! Our journey has been long, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Over the past decade, Legacy of Hope has been blessed to support many children, placing them in loving foster families—and many of those families have since been able to adopt the children in their care. Even now, additional adoptions are in process and will soon be finalized, giving more children the chance for permanent, stable, loving homes.

While we were in the capital celebrating Isabella’s adoption, SENAF (Honduran Child Services) approached us about reinitiating our foster family program. It is our prayer that the government will work to not only place children in families but also prevent further loss and trauma by allowing these families to adopt the children in their care, especially when no safe biological family members are available to assume responsibility. Would you join us in praying for Honduras to implement best practices in child welfare?

While we celebrate the joy of adoption, we also want to honor and celebrate the powerful moments when families are reunited. We know the deep love and resilience it takes to care for a foster child and support them—and their birth family—through the reunification process. We’ve been blessed to maintain relationships with our former foster children and their families, witnessing God’s restoration as we extend love and support to embrace both the children and their families.

At Legacy of Hope, we are committed to empowering children and families, both within our foster homes and throughout our community. Our mission is to create an environment where families can heal, thrive, and find hope for the future.

If you’d like to learn more about our family empowerment and foster care programs, I would love to schedule a call to share more.

If you feel led to support Legacy of Hope’s foster care initiatives in 2025, please let us know by responding with a donation today.

Thank you for helping us expand and improve our impact on vulnerable children and families in Honduras!
