The day had almost arrived.  We’d spent months planning for this, and even longer debating whether it was something we should even do in the first place.  But 4 home makeovers, a couple new bank accounts, 2 extra employees and countless hours of legal document revisions later, we were finally ready.

As a ministry we are always looking for locals who are willing to step into the lives of vulnerable children here at Legacy of Hope. We believe this is one of the essential steps to becoming a holistic ministry.

Although known for it’s coffee fincas, this town nestled in the mountains of Honduras isn’t the most hospitable for the average person to be able to provide fresh food for their family.

Claudia sat with her in the kitchen of Casa Segura, the crisis care center, as she was struggling to learn how to breast feed her newborn baby. This young teenager cast her glance to the ground and didn’t take her eyes from that place as we walked in.

Legacy of Hope has been so blessed by our staff and the hearts they have for the children we serve. This month we are highlighting Claudia as our LOH Person of the Month.

Legacy of Hope Foundation has been honored to be chosen as 1 of 30 non-government organizations in Honduras to participate in the pilot process to certifying organizations that provide alternative care to children.

Our new year began with the sad and very difficult news that our beloved psychologist, Ericka Garcia, passed away due to complications of a chronic and painful condition called scleroderma.

Christmas was, of course, a wonderful time of the year. The Spangler family enjoyed visits from some of their loved ones who live in the United States.
